April 11–12, the 2026 Beijing Fencing League (Leg 1), hosted by the Beijing Fencing Association, kicked off at the Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center (CIECC).

The tournament features individual events (U6 to Open) and team events (U6–17+), covering men’s and women’s foil, épée, and sabre—all three fencing disciplines—with an expected turnout of over 1,000 competitors. This marks the fourth collaboration between the Beijing Fencing Association and CIECC. Boasting top-tier facilities and extensive operational expertise, CIECC offers an ideal venue for the fencing league; in return, the competitive spirit of the league infuses dynamism into this modern convention complex.

The event is once again held in the Multi-Function Hall on the 3rd floor of the East Lobby. Boasting a 4,400-square-meter column-free layout, the spacious venue allows athletes to fully demonstrate their techniques. It easily accommodates multiple fencing strips to support simultaneous competitions, improving organizational efficiency, while offering spectators comfortable viewing angles to experience the speed and intensity of fencing up close. Additionally, the hall’s sound-absorbing wall panels effectively block external noise to maintain event order and amplify spectators’ cheers, creating a vibrant and passionate competition atmosphere.

A professional and versatile multi-purpose space, it previously hosted Rune Arena: League of Legends Trading Card Game activities and witnessed the outstanding performance of young fencers at the 2025 Beijing Youth Fencing Open Championship. Adaptable to small-to-medium performances, celebrity meet-and-greets, and other events, it is a versatile venue for sports, performances, and exchanges. Going forward, it will host more festivals, tournaments, exhibitions, commerce events, and shows, adding new vitality to Beijing’s cultural and entertainment landscape.

The 2026 Beijing Fencing League (Leg 1) is not only a contest of strength and strategy but also a vivid example of the “Convention + Sports Events” model. Moving forward, CIECC will continue to deepen the integrated development of culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions, unlock new drivers for the convention and event economies, empower sports development with a professional platform, and illuminate urban vitality through integrated innovation.
